National Civics Bee
Building Future Community Leaders
Six local chambers of commerce in Indiana, including the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce, have been honored with grants from the U.S. Chamber Foundation to support the National Civics Bee. This prestigious initiative aims to engage middle school students in grades 6 through 8 by encouraging them to explore and articulate their understanding of civic principles through essay submissions.
Fostering Civic Knowledge And Engagement
The National Civics Bee is designed to foster a deeper appreciation of civic knowledge and engagement among young students. Participants are invited to submit essays that reflect their insights on important civic topics, contributing to their understanding of citizenship, governance, and community involvement.
Nurturing Informed And Active Future Citizens
From the submitted essays, the top twenty finalists will be selected based on the quality and originality of their work. These finalists will then advance to a competitive phase in early 2025, where they will compete for various prizes and recognition. This initiative not only promotes civic education but also highlights the commitment of local chambers and the U.S. Chamber Foundation to nurturing informed and active future citizens.
